The 1944 Supreme Court case Korematsu v. United States retains significant relevance to present-day civil liberties and SCOTUS decisions. As host of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel’s (ACTEC) video series Planning for a Diverse and Equitable Future, Partner Terrence Franklin leads a conversation with Dr. Karen Korematsu, daughter of plaintiff Fred Korematsu who refused to report to an internment camp during World War II, and ACTEC Fellow Hung V. Nguyen as they discuss the history of Japanese-American internment in the U.S., the case, and its relevance to social issues today.
