Recognizing Religious Diversity While Advising End-of-Year Gifting – Terrence Franklin Hosts ACTEC Diversity, Equity & Inclusivity Video

One-third of all annual giving occurs in December, and trust and estate professionals are well aware of the tax reasons for the month’s donation popularity, but the end of the year also coincides with faith-based giving. As host of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel’s (ACTEC) video series Planning for a Diverse and Equitable Future, Partner Terrence Franklin was joined by ACTEC Fellows Amy B. Beller, Raymond C. Odom, and Jonathan J. Rikoon to discuss the impact of Christianity, Judaism and Islam faiths on end-of-year giving. They offer an overview of gifting within all three religions, context from scripture, and how to respect religious diversity when advising clients.
