Terrence Franklin Participates on Two Panels Discussing Planning Trusts and Estates

Partner Terrence Franklin recently participated on two panels, “Planning for Flexibility” and “Trustee Exercise of Discretion,” at The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) CLE Stand-Alone Program: The Anatomy and Life Cycle of a Trust. Mr. Franklin discussed litigation aspects of various planning issues, including the balance of discretion and control, anticipating tax law changes, powers of appointment and advice on drafting trustee guidelines. Additionally, Mr. Franklin addressed litigation aspects of trust administration and ethical issues, including the ascertainable standard, trust construction and settler intent, and the duty of impartiality.
