Matthew McMurtrey Obtains Judgment of More than $950,000 in Trust Litigation Case

In 2006, Managing Partner Matthew McMurtrey filed a lawsuit on behalf of a beneficiary who is the sister of the decedent. The decedent and his surviving spouse had created a joint trust, which was to divide into two subtrusts upon the first spouse’s death. His client argued that her brother’s surviving spouse inappropriately moved the couple’s residence and other money out of the decedent’s subtrust, thereby depriving it of its major assets.
