The Last Will of Lucy Sutton and Why It Matters Today – Terrence Franklin Interviewed on Legal Lens Talk Radio

Partner Terrence Franklin joined Legal Lens with Angela Reddock-Wright radio show as a guest on July 30, 2022 to discuss “The Last Will of Lucy Sutton and Why It Matters Today.” Franklin shared how he uncovered a will contest from the 1840s that challenged the will done by his white fourth great-grandfather that emancipated Franklin’s fourth great-grandmother and her children and grandchildren from slavery. This discovery led Franklin to define his mission, “To Bend the Arc of History Towards Justice” by sharing the story of his ancestors and other stories like them. Franklin talked about how uncovering the story of his ancestors’ emancipation helped him learn that we all have a role to play in shaping history.
