Matt McMurtrey Selected as Vice-Chair of the California Lawyers Association Trusts and Estates Executive Committee
Partner Matt McMurtrey has been appointed Vice-Chair of the California Lawyers Association Trusts and Estates Executive Committee for the 2020 – 2021 term, which will commence in September 2020. He will automatically become Chair for the 2021 – 2022 term.
The mission of the Trusts and Estates Section is to further the knowledge of practitioners in the areas of trusts and estate laws through educational opportunities, monitor and actively participate in the formation of laws and regulations that impact trusts and estates laws, and represent section members in the governance of the California Lawyers Association. Section membership includes more than 6,000 attorneys with interests and expertise in the active substantive committees, which include Estate Planning, Taxes, Trust and Estate Administration, Litigation, Incapacity (including Conservatorship, Guardianship, and Elder Law), and Ethics.
Matt is currently a member of the Executive Committee and a Chair of the Litigation Subcommittee of the Trusts and Estates Section. He previously served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Trusts and Estates Quarterly, the Section’s periodical featuring articles and columns by leading authors, practitioners and scholars.
