Terrence Franklin Presents TEDx Talk on “Bending the Arc of History”

Partner Terrence Franklin presented “Bending the Arc of History” at the third annual TEDxDavenport on June 25, 2022, at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, IA. He shared how uncovering the story of his ancestors’ emancipation helped him learn that we all have a role to play in shaping history.

Franklin had been a trusts and estates litigator for a quarter century when he discovered a will contest from the 1840s which challenged the will done by his white fourth great-grandfather that emancipated Franklin’s fourth great-grandmother and her children and grandchildren from slavery. This discovery led Franklin to define his life’s mission, “To Bend the Arc of History Towards Justice” by sharing the story of his ancestors. Franklin’s TEDx presentation continues his mission to educate and inspire others around the world.
