Los Angeles County Bar Association Welcomes Margaret Lodise to Speak at 2014 Trusts and Estates Symposium
The Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) invites partner Margaret Lodise to speak at the 2014 Trusts and Estates Symposium. The symposium will be held on September 19 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. This year’s symposium focuses on beneficiaries/trustee conflicts and potential techniques to limit that conflict.
Ms. Lodise will participate in the Beneficiaries and Trustees Behaving Badly panel, which will examine conflicts that arise between beneficiaries and trustees regarding administration of trusts. The main focus will be directed on areas in which conflict often arises, such as asset risk tolerance, asset selection, asset concentrations, discretionary distributions, notice to remainder beneficiaries, the party’s view of their role and regulatory compliance requirements. Ms. Lodise will share examples of conflicts that have arisen and methods she has used that can resolve the conflicts and/or minimize litigation.
